DIY Shortwave Radio Copying SSB - Update - BFO Circuit

In this video I am testing a 455khz BFO circuit (beat frequency oscillator) that provide the single side band (SSB) demodulation in my home made (home brew) AM receiver. Here I am copying Hams operating in SSB at 40m band. I show here an external oscillator (battery powered) that I assembled and is based on IC TEA5570 and a 455khz IF transform. This oscillator generates a sine signal of almost 455khz that I insert to the IF stage of receiver. In the SSB modulation process, the carrier and one of 2 lateral bands are suppressed and transmitted only on of lateral bands. What I do here is to re-create the carrier that was removed. I will incorporate this circuit to my home brew receiver. 73 to all.

GP4L Shortwave Radio Update

Broke my GP4L and I turned ont he camera as I looked inside DO NOT open yours up.. I found a spring and have no idea where it came from. I didn’t fix this one, but since it still work (mostly) we will continue to use and test it A video gear review from Gear-Reviews.net gear-reviews.net See our gear review blog http See us on Facebook: www.facebook.com Gear-Reviews on Twitter: twitter.com
