Grundig S350DL W/Slinky Antenna


For Christmas my mom got me the Grundig S350DL because I recently gained interest in shortwave radio. After reading many different antenna types I decided to try the slinky antenna. We live on the second floor of an apartment and it picks up a lot of noise but overall I think its worth using. The slinky isn’t tuned and paid like 2 bucks for it at Family Dollar. The loop is 3/4″ catv self supporting 20′ long tunned for 1.900 with 400pf + or - capacitors at center conductor and is center fed. The outer sheild of loop has a 2″ cut out in shield at the 10′ mark and both halfs are joined to the sheild to shield of coax. You must use a preamp. I use an mfj tuneable preamp but have found the preamps in my 756 work well …
