The importance of a good quality tuning capacitor for the antenna coil. For VFO and antenna coil an air type tuning capacitor made from aluminium-like or brass-like metal works well. The shaft/knob of the tuning capacitor must be on ground to prevent hand effect when tuning, the turn should be sufficient (360 degrees). Note that less capacitance should occur when you turn the knob to the right, if not the frequency scale will be reversed. Normally the higher frequency is on the right side …

            Sorry for the late reaction. All my radio schematics on You Tube are published in my book “Retro Radio”, publisher Elektor in the Netherlands. You can Google it. Book is in the Dutch language, but the schematics are in normal international electronic symbols.

            Zeker weten. Sorry voor de late reactie. je vraag over het zelfbouw MF filter (geheel andere video overigens) zag ik ook erg laat, op een of andere manier krijg ik reacties (te) laat via YT. je vraag was of de afstand van de spoeltjes veel uitmaakt. Antwoord: ja dat maakt veel uit het is erg kritisch en moet met de scoop en een generator op 455 KHz worden afgeregeld.
