Cavalcade of Homebrew Radios Part VI–1934 Twinplex Regenerative Shortwave Radio


This is an item I built about seven years ago. It’s a 1934 vintage Twinplex, a regen set from one of Gernsback’s many radio publications. It uses a type 19 tube, and its chassis is a bent piece of sheet metal. I saw a drawing of these sets in a Lindsay Publications advertisement, and I always liked how that tube was mounted sideways on the chassis.
