This radio has fine reception on AM and FM; however, at this price the SSB should work too. It does not. Knowing that SSB reception can be enviroment dependent I tried several different times on several different days in city and country. I also used the attached antenna and a 23 foot external antenna. Trying to get help from Sangean is difficult and costly. They require money up front with no promise of a fix.
If you want SSB reception forget this radio.
